Why are some apps always allowed?

You may notice that certain entries in Zerify Defender's Application Access list are always set to Allow. The example screenshot below shows three such entries:

 

 

This is normal and expected behavior when one of the following conditions is true:

  • The application is signed/distributed by Microsoft, Intel, or Symantec. This is to ensure core operating system processes can not be mistakenly blocked.
  • The application was marked as trusted by your Zerify Defender administrator. (Enterprise deployments only)
